Arab and Islamic Foreign Ministers in Riyadh Condemn Iran Attacks; Saudi FM Does Not Rule Out Military Action

Arab and Islamic foreign ministers, at the conclusion of their meeting in Riyadh, issued a statement condemning the Islamic Republic's attacks and affirming the right of these countries to self-defense. In the statement, these actions were described as "deliberate aggressions" and Tehran was called upon to immediately halt the attacks. The final statement of the Riyadh meeting declared that the Islamic Republic's "aggressions" are in no way justifiable. The Arab and Islamic countries also stated that the Islamic Republic's attacks have targeted residential areas and civilian infrastructure. The signatories demanded an immediate halt to the attacks and adherence to the principles of international law. During the meeting, Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan sharply criticized the Islamic Republic's conduct, accusing Iran of targeting civilians and the economic infrastructure of regional countries, and warned that these actions would be "costly." Bin Farhan stated that Saudi Arabia has various options available — including non-political options — and does not rule out military action if necessary.
