China is pressuring Iran to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and refrain from attacking oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments, Bloomberg reported. Beijing is heavily dependent on Persian Gulf energy supplies — particularly Qatari gas — and has urged Tehran not to target energy routes vital to global markets. The appeal followed regional attacks that disrupted oil tanker traffic and prompted Qatar to briefly halt LNG production. Chinese officials directly warned Iran against further disruptions to critical energy corridors.
