Canada PM Carney Backs US Action on Iran's Nuclear Program But Rules Out Military Participation

Speaking from Mumbai, India, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Canada supports the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. However, Carney firmly ruled out Canadian military involvement, saying: 'We have not been party to the military build-up to this or the military planning of this, so it is not envisioned that we would be part of it moving forward.' He also urged protection of all civilians and called the Islamic Republic of Iran the principal source of instability and terror throughout the Middle East.
