CENTCOM Confirms Loss of KC-135 Stratotanker During Operation Epic Fury

US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it is aware of an incident and the "loss" of a US KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft. According to the command, the incident occurred in friendly airspace during the ongoing operation against Iran — known as Operation Epic Fury — and search and rescue operations are still ongoing. In a statement released by CENTCOM on Thursday night, it was stated: "Two aircraft were involved in this incident. One of them crashed in western Iraq and the second aircraft landed successfully." US Central Command has claimed and emphasized that the incident "did not occur as a result of enemy fire or friendly fire."
