EU Foreign Affairs Council Holds Emergency Video Conference on Iran War

EU foreign ministers convened an emergency video conference at 17:00 CET (11:00 ET) on Sunday, March 1, to coordinate the European response to the Iran conflict. Consular assistance and repatriation of stranded European citizens were key agenda items. EU HR Kaja Kallas said the EU was coordinating with Arab partners on diplomatic paths and that the EU naval mission in the Red Sea was on high alert. Around 3,400 flights had been cancelled at seven Middle East airports, stranding passengers from EU member states.
