Four Senior Iranian Intelligence Ministry Chiefs Killed in Opening Strikes, Iran International Reports
Iran International, citing intelligence sources, reported that four senior commanders of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence were killed in the opening US-Israeli strikes on February 28: Javad Pourhossein, head of the foreign intelligence unit; Mohammad-Reza Bajestani, head of the security unit; Ali Kheirandish, head of the counterterrorism unit; and Saeed Ehya Hamidi, an adviser on the war with Israel. The reported killings effectively decapitated Iran's civilian intelligence leadership alongside the military commanders confirmed killed in the same strikes.
