Fox News Confirms One F-15E Crew Member Rescued, in Medical Care; Pave Hawk Helicopters Search Khuzestan for Second Crew Member
Fox News confirmed that one of the two crew members of a US F-15E fighter jet shot down in Iranian airspace has been rescued by rescue forces and is currently receiving medical care. Although the identity and gender of the pilot have not yet been disclosed, their safety has been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the search and rescue operation to find the second crew member continues using special Pave Hawk helicopters in areas of Khuzestan province. Rescuers hope that nighttime cover will help special operations teams locate the second pilot — who has also completed SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) training — before local forces do.
Reports of a bounty being set by the Islamic Republic for finding American pilots have heightened the sensitivity of this mission.
