Iran Accuses US of Launching Strikes While Nuclear Negotiations Were Actively Ongoing — 'You Cannot Trust Them'

An Iranian official condemned the US-Israeli strikes as a betrayal of active diplomacy, stating: 'Even the president and the foreign minister of the United States were saying that the negotiation is in process and we are taking steps forward. But still, in the middle of the negotiation, they attacked our country.' The official added: 'Last time they attacked us, they asked for a ceasefire. Now, they themselves again broke the ceasefire. You cannot trust them.' The strikes came two days after US-Iran nuclear talks in Geneva ended without a deal.
