Iran Judiciary Orders Asset Confiscation of Pop Singer Mohsen Yeganeh and Football Star Sardar Azmoun

According to reports published in Iranian media, the judiciary of the Islamic Republic has issued an order to confiscate the assets of "Mohsen Yeganeh," a well-known Iranian pop singer. At the same time, it has been reported that the assets of "Sardar Azmoun," former player of Iran's national football team, have also been confiscated. Bahman Babazadeh, a music journalist, wrote on his X account that the reason for issuing the confiscation order for Mohsen Yeganeh's assets was posts and content related to the suppression of the protests in Dey month 1404 (January 2026). Mohsen Yeganeh's father was one of those killed in the Iran-Iraq war. He had protested in Dey month 1404 against the cutting of internet and killing of protesters on Iran's streets. Sardar Azmoun, during the recent war between Iran and the US and Israel that started on 9 Esfand 1404 (February 28, 2026), published a photo shaking hands with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the UAE, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, ruler of Dubai. After the publication of this photo, Fars News Agency, affiliated with the IRGC, published an article on its website and news channel calling Sardar Azmoun a "traitor to the homeland" and threatened to confiscate his assets.
