Iran Supreme National Security Council Denies Fars News Report on Ali Larijani Death Location — Conflicting Accounts Emerge

The Secretariat of Iran's Supreme National Security Council announced that the report published by Fars News Agency about the "details of the location where Ali Larijani was killed" is false. Earlier, Fars News Agency — affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — published details claiming Larijani was killed along with his son, one of his deputies, and a group of bodyguards, at his daughter's home in the Pardis area, targeted by fighter jets. The Israeli army had previously stated it targeted and killed Ali Larijani "near Tehran." Update: A government-affiliated channel also wrote: "Fars News Agency has corrected its initial report on the details of the location where the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council was martyred. Martyr Ali Larijani, one of the prominent and prudent officials of the country, along with his son, one of his deputies, and a group of bodyguards, was targeted at his workplace by American and Israeli jets and was martyred. The correction also states: In the initial report it was stated that Dr. Larijani was martyred at his daughter's home — which informed sources denied." [Commentary: Could it have been in Pardis, and they want to deny it for some reason?] Update: A message suggests he was killed in last night's strike on Masoudiyeh in southeast Tehran, along with additional details — though the general outline alone cannot be fully relied upon at this point.
