Iran Warns It May Open New Front at Bab-el-Mandeb Strait If Attacks on Iranian Territory Continue
Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with Iran's Revolutionary Guards, reported Wednesday citing a knowledgeable Iranian military source that if attacks on Iranian soil or islands continue, Tehran may open a new battle front in the Bab-el-Mandeb strait. The source warned: "If Americans want to think of a solution for the Strait of Hormuz, they should be careful not to add another strait to their problems."
Yemen's Houthi group, considered a close ally of the Islamic Republic, has previously carried out numerous attacks in this strategic region. The warning comes as tensions in the Persian Gulf have reached a peak, and the opening of a third front in the Red Sea could subject the global energy supply chain to an unprecedented crisis.
