Levinson Family Thanks Trump, Calls Khamenei's Death an 'Important Moment' but Vows to Continue Fight for Accountability
The family of Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent who vanished in Iran in 2007 and later died in Iranian custody, released a statement Sunday thanking President Trump for his actions toward Iran. The family accused the Islamic Republic of nearly 19 years of lies, obstruction, and refusal to answer for Levinson's kidnapping, detention, and death. "Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led the regime responsible for these crimes," the statement said, adding that while his death marks "an important moment," it does not end their fight for accountability. The family also expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and all families harmed by the regime's hostage-taking.
