NCRI Announces Provisional Government as US-Israel Strikes Begin

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) formally announced the formation of a Provisional Government on February 28, 2026, coinciding with the launch of US-Israeli military strikes on Iran. The 460-member coalition, led by President-elect Maryam Rajavi, declared its mission to transfer sovereignty to the Iranian people and establish a Democratic Republic based on her Ten-Point Plan. Rajavi called on patriotic Iranian military personnel to lay down arms and stand with the people rather than the regime.
