Pentagon Identifies Fifth of Six U.S. Soldiers Killed in Iranian Drone Strike at Kuwait Port

The U.S. Department of Defense has identified Maj. Jeffrey R. O'Brien, 45, of Indianola, Iowa, as the fifth of six soldiers killed when an Iranian one-way attack drone struck the Tactical Operations Center at the Port of Shuaiba in Kuwait. O'Brien was assigned to the U.S. Army's 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command and died on March 1, 2026. The attack targeted the TOC where the soldiers were serving and was launched from Iran.
