Trump Claims CIA Told Him Mojtaba Khamenei Is Gay, Extends Iran Negotiation Deadline to 10 Days

In an interview with Fox News aired Thursday afternoon ET, President Donald Trump stated that the CIA had informed him that Mojtaba Khamenei — the son of Iran's Supreme Leader — is gay, adding: "Well, they said that, but I don't know if it was just them. I think a lot of people are saying that. Which puts him in a very bad position in that country." Trump also commented on the violent crackdown on protesters in Iran, saying: "To me, when you look at what happened, the people are scared because one side has guns — and very dangerous guns." He added: "People are brave, but when they see people going down one after another… they can't protest anymore." Describing how security forces dealt with protesters, Trump said: "The reason they're not protesting is they're being shot… they do it with snipers, from buildings." He stated that during the protests, "they were shooting women directly in the head" and noted: "When you see people going down one after another… you run. That's what happened." Trump also referenced the execution of Saleh Mohammadi, a wrestler executed on March 19, 2026 for participating in protests, saying: "That wrestler… was a star… They killed him because he spoke out against the regime." He emphasized: "Iran has great wrestlers and he was one of the best, but they killed him." In another part of the interview, Trump referenced the killing of Islamic Republic leaders in recent strikes and said that under such circumstances "you could say regime change has occurred, because all the leaders have been killed." On negotiations, Trump said Iranian officials had requested more time: "They said can you give us more time?… They had asked for seven days, and I gave them 10 days." He added: "I said you have 10 days… and they thanked me very much for that." Trump indicated that negotiations are continuing and "things are not going badly," though he expressed some doubt about the final outcome.
