UKMTO Reports Suspected Attack on Merchant Ship in Northern Persian Gulf Near Kuwait

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Office (UKMTO) has issued an advisory reporting a suspected attack on a merchant vessel in the Northern Persian Gulf, approximately 30 nautical miles southeast of Mubarak Al Kabeer, Kuwait. The ship reported a large explosion on its port side, with a visible oil sheen forming on the water. A small craft was seen departing the vicinity of the stricken vessel following the blast.
