UN Security Council Passes Resolution Demanding Iran Immediately Halt Attacks on Gulf States

The United Nations Security Council on Wednesday passed a resolution calling on Iran to immediately halt its attacks against Gulf countries. The resolution states these attacks violate international law and constitute "a serious threat to international peace and security." The resolution passed with 13 votes in favor and two abstentions [Russia and China], demanding the "immediate cessation of all attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran" against Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.
