GCC Emergency Ministerial Meeting: Holds Iran Responsible, Asserts Right to Self-Defense
Gulf Cooperation Council foreign ministers held an emergency video conference chaired by Kuwaiti FM Abdullah Al-Yahya, with Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain all participating. The GCC condemned Iran's missile and drone attacks on member states as a 'blatant and clear violation' of sovereignty and territorial integrity, formally held Iran responsible, and affirmed that targeted countries reserve the right to self-defense under the UN Charter. The Council also activated its Emergency Management Center to monitor radiological and environmental risks from strikes near nuclear facilities, and called on the UN Security Council to impose a ceasefire.
