Iran Internet Blackout Passes 24-Hour Mark — NetBlocks: Connectivity at 1% of Normal
Iran's nationwide internet blackout passed the 24-hour mark on Sunday, March 1, with connectivity at approximately 1% of normal levels, per NetBlocks. The blackout began around 07:00 UTC February 28 — shortly after U.S.-Israeli strikes — dropping from 4% to near-zero within hours. NetBlocks CEO Alp Toker said the shutdown matches Iran's wartime playbook, preventing leak of regime officials' locations via metadata. The outage is cutting off 88 million Iranians from news of the conflict.
