Iranian Shahed Drone Strikes RAF Akrotiri British Military Base in Cyprus — First Direct Hit Since 1980s

An Iranian-manufactured Shahed drone struck RAF Akrotiri, the British Royal Air Force base on Cyprus, causing limited damage with no casualties. Cyprus President Christodoulides confirmed minor material damage. Reuters reported two drones targeted the base with one intercepted. The UK MoD stated force protection is at the highest level. This is the first direct attack on RAF Akrotiri since Libyan militants targeted it in the mid-1980s.
