NYT: Iran’s Ceasefire Terms Include No-Strike Guarantee, End to Lebanon Attacks, and Sanctions Lift — Offers Hormuz Access With $2M-Per-Ship Toll

The New York Times, citing two unnamed senior Iranian officials familiar with the ceasefire negotiations, reports that Iran’s response to the US proposal includes: a guarantee that attacks against Iranian positions will not be repeated, an end to Israeli attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the lifting of all sanctions. In return, Iran would lift its effective blockade of the key Strait of Hormuz shipping route. Iran would also impose a toll of approximately $2 million per vessel, which it would split with Oman on the other side of the strait. Under the plan, Iran would use its share of the toll revenue toward rebuilding infrastructure destroyed by US and Israeli strikes, rather than demanding direct reparations.
