Putin Calls Khamenei's Killing a 'Cynical Murder,' Sends Condolences to Iran

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a personal condolence message to Iranian President Pezeshkian calling the killing of Supreme Leader Khamenei 'a cynical murder committed in cynical violation of all norms of human morality and international law.' Putin said Khamenei would be remembered as an outstanding statesman who advanced Russian-Iranian strategic partnership. Russian FM Lavrov also spoke with Iranian FM Araghchi to reaffirm Moscow's condemnation and readiness to help broker peace.
